Bar and Community Service of Hornthal, Riley, Ellis & Maland, L.L.P.

Partner L. P. "Tony" Hornthal, Jr. served as the 1996-1997 President of the North Carolina Bar Association.

Partner M. H. Hood Ellis was inducted into the North Carolina Bar Association General Practice Hall of Fame in June 2005.

In October 2004, partner Donald C. Prentiss was elected to a three year term to represent the First Judicial District Bar on the North Carolina State Bar Council.

Partner Charles W. Ogletree served a nine year term representing the Second Judicial District Bar on the North Carolina State Bar Council. He was also inducted into the North Carolina Bar Association General Practice Hall of Fame in June 1999.
