Thomas White is a native of Raleigh, N.C. He earned his degrees from the University of North Carolina.
He was admitted to bar in North Carolina in 1970, the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of North Carolina in 1978, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit in 1984.
Mr. White served as Town Attorney for Nags Head, N.C., as well as the Town of Southern Shores. He is a member of the Dare County First Judicial District (serving as Vice President and President), the NC State Bar, and NC Bar Assocation.
He serves as a member of the Manteo Rotary Club (President, 1997) and the Roanoke Island Historical Association (Chairman, 1989-1997, General Counsel 1987, Producer 1989-1997).
He served in the United States Navy from 1960-1967, Capt. UN/SNR, 1967-1989.
